Rachie’s is an artist and VJ RASKAL. Her multidisciplinary work explores the blurred lines between nudes, sex and societal norms.
Rachie Campbell studied Graphic Design at Massey University in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Aotearoa. Her thesis examined everyday mainstream sexist advertising in public spaces, sparking an ongoing interest in creating work that centres on women's perspectives and desires that have often been overlooked throughout art history and popular culture.
While working in China, Rachie returned to painting before moving to London, where she studied oil painting at Central Saint Martins. Her multidisciplinary practice combines traditional oil painting with contemporary media, exploring the body, intimacy, sexuality and the social constructs that shape our perceptions of gender.
Rachie has exhibited in Aotearoa, UK, Italy, Spain and Denmark, including at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London. She is currently based in Brooklyn, Te Whanganui-a-Tara where she creates from her studio.
